Here is your energy lookout for the week ahead. Like checking the weather to know how to dress, it makes good sense to check the planetary energy patterns to know how to plan your days. This forecast looks at the current transits of the planets in relation to society as a whole. Your own natal, or birth chart is also impacted by the current transits and your own experiences this week will also be affected by your own unique chart pattern.

You may find your thoughts shifting on Friday, July 9th, as Mercury moves into Leo. While the Messenger waded through the water sign of Cancer, your thinking may have been tinged with emotional overtones and you may have been doing the evasive sideways crab shuffle when discussing certain subjects, all the while waving a slightly threatening claw – just in case you had to protect yourself. Now you experience a rush of courage and are eager to make change happen.Uranus turned retrograde this past week, and you may be thinking things can’t change at all. The Jupiter/Uranus conjunction is activated today by Mercury in it’s bold new cat suit as well as Venus, still in ears and tail as well. making change a good possibility after all. Venus is poised to shed her Leo fur and slip into the robes of Virgo, the maiden, tomorrow. Venus is opposing Neptune, indicating that sacrifices can or will be made. I predict you will have a breakthrough born of necessity that arrives in the eleventh hour and breathes new life into an old dream or launches a new one.

Venus moves into Virgo on Saturday, July 10, and love becomes practical and purposeful.You have the desire to organize and eliminate the clutter in your life, both literally and figuratively. The Sun, Mars, Venus, Mercury and Saturn are pushing for action but a T-square between the Moon in Cancer, Pluto in Capricorn and the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in head strong Aries may bring you roadblocks that cause emotional upset. The Moon is fast approaching the Sun and the total eclipse of tomorrow, so this T-square may feel significantly more intense than it would be standing on it’s own. You may have emotions bouncing around like popcorn, many that you were unaware of or thought you had already cleared and processed. While you feel ready to pop, just breathe and take care of one thing at a time. Set aside any tasks or challenges that do not need to be done immediately or that you suspect will give rise to excessive emotional reaction. Keep you mind on the actual rather than the abstract. This too, shall pass.

On Sunday, July 11th, a New Moon occurs in Cancer, as well as a total eclipse of the Sun. Significant events like this are times when I encourage you to have a good understanding of your own natal chart so you can look at how the event may affect your own life. If you can look at your birth chart and know what house ( area of life ) the Sun is now transiting or which natal planets are being aspected, you will have a good idea of what to expect and how to manage the energies. An eclipse always seems to plunge people deep within, or offers the chance for deep inner examination. Then an opening, understanding or transformation may occur. Cancer rules mother, the womb, nurturing and sustenance. It is an emotional water sign. Globally, we are all being impacted by the magnitude of the oil spill in the Gulf. We are a water planet, and all the oceans and our entire water cycle and food chains are intimately and intricately connected. The far reaching ramification of this disaster is dire. The eclipse may bring this crisis to a point where a real positive change can occur. While you reflect on your own life today, see the Oneness of you and and all life and open your heart to the fullest for yourself and Mother Gaia.

The tension producing T-square is past you on Monday, July 12th. A Moon/Mercury conjunction in Leo fires up your powers of persuasion and is favorably supported and energized by the “I am” energy of Jupiter/Uranus and the strong determination of Pluto in Capricorn. Moon/Mercury is also playing nicely with Venus in multitasking Virgo and Venus, in turn, is magnified by Pluto and stimulated by Jupiter/Uranus. Saturn is also favorably aspecting the Moon/Mercury and Neptune. All this positive planetary flow puts you in control of a full out, full throttle day of maximum production and satisfaction in virtually any area of your life.

According to the planets, Tuesday, July 13th, is happy, calm and easy going. I hear the Eagles singing “Peaceful, Easy Feeling” as I look at the aspects. There are no major stressors other than the old Saturn/Uranus opposition and Jupiter/Pluto square. Don’t give them any thought – you’ve made the internal adjustments to both of them and they won’t throw you any curve balls today. The Moon in Leo encourages creativity and play. Venus in Virgo trine to Pluto in Capricorn can make passion the work of the day and the Moon and Venus contra-parallel to Neptune encourages fantasy, romance and an escape from reality. If you are able to make this a vacation day you will enjoy it in a grand and glorious way.

Wednesday, July 14th, has similar energy to yesterday in terms of the overall calm, however, the focus shifts now from play to work. Love and passion vibrations are still in place with the Venus/Pluto trine but the Moon is now in Virgo and energizes Venus. Venus in Virgo is perhaps more loving than almost any other placement of Venus because love is expressed through the Virgo vibration as selfless service and loving deeds. Venus in Virgo is no fool, though, and will only place that heart energy behind an appropriate worthy cause. The dreamy, escapist energy of yesterday has passed and today your heart is burning with a feeling of driven purpose to do what needs to be done for yourself, your family or any cause to which you feel a strong affinity. Yesterday, your heart needed some playtime and today your heart desires to work with a purpose.Your actions speak louder than words now and others may be influenced to emulate you, creating a domino effect of blessings.

A Moon/Mars conjunction in Virgo on Thursday, July 15th, places your focus on analyzing your feelings and motivations. It is also the extra shot in the arm that may help you bring a project to completion. The extra passion, sense of purpose, enthusiasm for change and growth that Venus was supplying through it’s energy exchanges with Pluto/Jupiter/Uranus is now beginning to taper off. Mercury is contra-parallel Pluto and this makes your thought processes ultra powerful and your speech direct and commanding. Today is the day to apply sheer determination and give something your all. Next week, which I won’t be writing about until the next forecast period ( but I just had to peek ) brings some new energy patterns and today and the next day or two carry a culmination and work oriented vibration. Whatever you can bring to a close now, do so, while the planets emphasize staying on task and tying up loose ends.
