Horoscope, The ZodiacA horoscope is part of astrology. It depicts the positions of the Sun, the moon, the other planets, their aspects and angles that they are within each other, on a diagram, or a chart. The word horoscope is derived from the Greek word ("horoskopos") meaning to look at the hours, at the timing of your birth. The place of the birth also factors in, the location.

Thank to our modern world-computers, no one casts a chart by hand any longer. However, to interpret this chart, you will need a good astrologer. the astrologer can look at this chart and tell us what does this chart say about the person they are reading for.

There are 12 sections in a horoscope, each known as a house. There are signs, called glyphs that represents the sun and the planets. Each sign is 30 degrees, and the twelve signs together make 360 degrees, hence a full circle. Each Degree is 60 minutes. Therefore, each degree starts at zero degrees and zero minutes, and it ends up at twenty nine degrees and fifty nine minutes before the next sign. The degrees and the minutes mark the location of the sun, moon and all the other planets. The upper half of the chart shows where there was day time, and the lower half shows the night time, at the time of one's birth.

The celestial bodies,-planets, also rise like the sun. there is significant influence on one's chart by the rising sign. The rising sign is on the east side of the chat. The rising sign is the first thing to look for. It tells the experiences the person had as a child. The person's experiences with their parents. teachers, friends all around, until teenage years. The rising sun is also the starting point for twelve houses. This is called the Ascendant.

At the top of the chart we have the midheaven. The midheaven sign shows how we can go about achieving our goals.

Aspect lines are important as well. They show the position of the planets relative to each other, and how they influence. The difficult aspects are when planets square each other or are in opposition to each other. The easy aspects are when planets are in sextile or trine. Conjunction is when two or more planets are close to each other, within 10 degrees of each other. Challenging aspects force us to overcome problems, thus promoting growth.

There are Weekly Horoscopes, Monthly Horoscopes, as well as Yearly Horoscopes.
